YAMS Day Held at Washington Metropolitan

Posted

ST. LOUIS, MO – The Young Adult Missionary Society of Washington Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church in St. Louis, MO, celebrated YAMS Day on Sunday November 13, 2016 during the 11 a.m. worship service.

This dynamic group of young women is led by Local Coordinator, Erin Brazley, who facilitated the service. She thanked the congregation for their support and highlighted some of the work the YAMS have been doing around St. Louis. They have been working with “Shalom House”, an organization that provides support and housing for homeless women. Each year, they participate in the annual coat drive for “Warm Hugs” and in the Christmas Holiday Outreach with the Missouri facility of the Division of Youth Services. The group also helps to spearhead the activities during the National Church Week of Prayer for the healing of H.I.V./A.I.D.S. The group also assists the ushers on 5th Sundays.

The speaker for the day was Rev. Lori Holmes from Caldwell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Kankakee, IL. Her message was taken from Matthew 8:23-27 and was entitled “Coming Just in the Nick of Time.”

We are thankful for this group of hard working young women.
