Clinton College Announces New Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

Posted

Rock Hill, SC – Clinton College has launched a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program, which will begin in fall 2023. The launch of this program makes Clinton the second historically black college to currently offer a BSN in the state of South Carolina.

“With the launch of our new nursing program, we hope to enroll and produce a diverse population of nurses to address the national nursing shortage,” said Dr. Lester A. McCorn, President of Clinton College. “Clinton is dedicated to equipping our nursing students with the right knowledge and tools to provide exceptional care to those in South Carolina and beyond.”

Led by the Director of Nursing, Dr. Glenda Sims, Clinton College will offer hands-on experience for our students using state-of-the-art simulators located in the nursing lab. The simulators mimic illnesses and medical conditions that students will see during clinicals. Clinical simulation prepares students for real-world experiences in the medical field.

“Clinton College recognizes the urgent need to promote health within our community, we seek to do this through programming aligned with the mission and heritage of the college,” said Dr. Toneyce Randolph, Vice President of Academic Services. “We endeavor to establish a professional nursing program where graduates will safely and enthusiastically lead and where graduates will positively impact their communities through the practice of nursing.”

In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Clinton has added Healthcare Administration, Cybersecurity, Interdisciplinary Studies, Elementary Education, and Music degrees to its new academic catalog.
