Rev. Dr. Charlrene Mapson Appointed by Wilmington City Council to Advisory Board

Posted

Congratulations to Rev. Dr. Charlrean Batten Mapson, appointed by the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County to serve on the Community Relations Advisory Committee. Dr. Mapson will serve the joint committee as their faith representative. The committee was organized in October 2016 for the purpose of addressing community issues involving prejudice or discrimination on the bases of race, national origin, creed or religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or medical condition. The Committee informs the appointing authorities and other organizations of their findings; and makes recommendations, in an advisory capacity, to the appointing authorities and other organizations, as necessary. This is Dr. Mapson’s third community related appointment this year, as she was recently chosen by Governor Roy Cooper to serve on the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities and earlier this year, selected as a member of New Hanover County Smart Start Board of Directors.

Dr. Mapson is former General Youth Secretary of the Women’s Home & Overseas Missionary Society (2003-11), and current pastor of Price Cathedral Church in Wilmington, North Carolina. She looks forward to serving as an advocate for those in the city of Wilmington and New Hanover County. We offer our prayers and support to Dr. Mapson in all her endeavors.
