IMSWF 2026 Leadership Spotlight: Mrs. Gelenia Frencher

Greetings,

I am Gelenia Victoria Aaron-Frencher, affectionately known as “Vickie.”

I am offering myself as your next International Ministers’ Spouses and Widow(er)s Fellowship President.

My theme is “Draw the Circle Wide.” Together, we will build a fellowship where every spouse and every widow(er) feels valued and supported.

My vision is to create spaces where ministers’ spouses and widow(er)s can fellowship, learn from each other, pray for each other, and support one another—growing together in love and unity as we serve God and His church.

I will establish a President’s Council—uniting Episcopal, Conference, and District Presidents to lead with alignment, purpose, and strength.

Together, we will uplift the “boots on the ground,” those who faithfully carry our mission forward every day.

Psalm 133:1 states, “When we stand together, we are stronger.”

In 1998, I offered myself as president and, though I wasn’t elected, I was appointed as Membership Chair, a role I held from 1998 to 2012. During that time, our membership soared, and we birthed the Life Members membership.

From 2012 to 2024, I served as Missionary Supervisor, appointed by Bishop Michael Angelo Frencher Sr., where I had the privilege to mentor and empower spouses in the Eastern West Africa, Southwest Delta, and Midwest Episcopal Districts.

I also served as West Central North Carolina Conference MSWF President and Greensboro District MSWF President.

I’ve been blessed to be a blessing. I’ve had the honor to be mentored and the opportunity to serve alongside six of the eight past presidents of the International Ministers’ Spouses and Widow(er)s Fellowship.

Now, I ask you to bless me by electing me as your next president this July at the CED Convention.

My sisters and brothers of the Fellowship, please ensure your dues are paid by July 1st so you can vote.

As I step forward in faith, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and a vision for us all. Together, we will strengthen our fellowship.
