It’s Tourney Time and LC's Nielle Reaves Named ROY

Greetings from The Charm City! The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) revealed the 2024 Men’s and Women’s All-Conference selections and Players of the Year.

We're thrilled to share that Nielle Reaves from Livingstone College has been honored as the CIAA Women’s Rookie of the Year. Hailing from New Haven, CT, Nielle earned the CIAA Women’s Rookie of the Week presented by Food Lion three times this season. Her standout performance includes achieving her first double-double against St. Augustine’s University with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, and a steal on the defensive end.

Nielle's versatility shone through in Livingstone’s significant victory over Shaw University. In under 20 minutes of playtime, she contributed 20 points, 2 rebounds, and sank 2 crucial three-pointers in overtime, securing the win.

Additionally, the 2023-2024 CIAA Men’s All-Conference Team featured Livingstone College's Khyree Temple and James Nipper on the 2023-24 Men’s Basketball All-Rookie Team.

These prestigious honors, bestowed by the CIAA Basketball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association, commend the exceptional talents within CIAA Hoops.

Get ready for the excitement of CIAA Hoops as the action kicks off on February 26 at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, MD! The Livingstone College women’s team will take on Bluefield State University at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27. Later in the day, catch the Livingstone College men’s team facing off against Bowie State University at 6:40 p.m. Both thrilling matchups will be available for viewing on ESPN+.
