Posted

Charlotte, North Carolina - Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church proudly announces its upcoming Cultural Awareness Weekend, set to take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Little Rock Church campus, 401 North McDowell Street, Charlotte, NC.

This two-day celebration will honor heritage, community, and cooperative economics while bringing together people of all backgrounds in a spirit of unity and cultural appreciation.

On Saturday, February 22, the festivities will feature the African Marketplace, a vibrant event dedicated to celebrating cooperative economics (Ujaama). Attendees can explore a diverse array of vendors offering handcrafted jewelry, handbags, authentic African attire, and more. The marketplace serves as a unique opportunity to support local businesses and embrace African culture through fashion and craftsmanship.

On Sunday, February 23, the morning worship service will be led by Rev. Dr. Derrill A. Blue, Pastor, featuring special musical selections and an inspiring sermon. The service will be followed by a soul food feast, fostering fellowship. All are welcome to attend this uplifting weekend of culture, faith, and unity. Guests are encouraged to wear traditional African attire as a way of celebrating our heritage.
