Livingstone College Prayer Meeting Choir Alumni to Perform Electrifying Concert in Commemoration of 64 Years of Gospel Message in Song

Salisbury, NC - The Livingstone College Prayer Meeting Choir (PMC) Alumni is excited to announce its 64th-year concert reunion after a few years of the COVID-19 interruption and re-organizational activities. On April 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at the Varick Auditorium on the Livingstone College campus, the Prayer Meeting Choir invites the public to share, once again, in its free public offering of the gospel message in song.

 

For over six decades, the Prayer Meeting Choir has recruited students across the country for Livingstone College and provided this message in song at various churches and ecumenical settings nationwide. The then-active PMC, as it has been and is affectionately called, comprised Livingstone College students from varied sections of the United States, Africa, India, and the Caribbean. These students today are the alumni returning as Bishops, Ministers, Doctors, Educators, Lawyers, Scientists, Musicians, and others, still living and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 

The city of Salisbury and its' churches have always been a great support and a "good portion" of the reunion weekend's culminating activity, the 3:00 PM concert at Varick Auditorium. The Livingstone College community is thrilled to welcome back the reunion choir, under the musical direction of Mr. Shipps Washington, accompanied by other past musicians and directors, Mr. James Cockerham, Dr. Curtis Dean, and Apostle Joseph Siler.

 

The Livingstone College Prayer Meeting Choir is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the legacy of the Livingstone College Prayer Meeting Choir and its spiritual advisor, Reverend Willie L. Aldrich. The choir continues to honor and show its love to Reverend Willie L. Aldrich by establishing a scholarship fund in her name given to a Livingstone College student in Music or Ministry beginning in the next academic school year.

 

In these turbulent times, it is crucial for those who believe in the power of prayer, the power of God, and the gospel of Jesus Christ to come together. The PMC Alumni invites everyone to come together and celebrate the triumphs of the past, the promise of the future, and the joy of the Lord at the Varick Auditorium on the Livingstone College campus on April 28, 2024.
