BREAKING NEWS: The A.M.E. Zion Church joins in relief efforts for Jackson, Mississippi

Posted

The water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi is one of the worst in recent time. The flooding has only exacerbated the systemic disparities which permeate infrastructure policy, economics, and education.

According to Bishop Eric Leake, Presiding Prelate of the Southwestern Delta Episcopal District, "even purchasing bottled water in the area is a challenge because supplies are sold out almost immediately. Therefore, while financial donations are certainly welcomed, the preference is for cases of bottled water to be purchased online through sites such as Walmart or Sam’s Club and delivered directly to Cathedral AME Zion Church which has been designated as a distribution center”. The Board of Bishops has already committed to giving $25,000.00 in this relief effort.

The address for shipping water to Cathedral AME Zion Church is 428 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39206. For those who prefer to send cash donations, they may be sent to Cathedral AME Zion Church via Cashapp ($CAMEZ428) or Paypal (thecathedralexperience@yahoo.com). You must indicate WATER CRISIS DONATION to ensure it is used for the intended purpose.
